Another great day. Another chance to smile and take in the world around me. As I get older, often times I miss my youth. Not because I don’t enjoy the now, because I do. The is such an indescribable innocence that comes along with being young. No kids to worry about, no career to stress on. There was little thought about tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow is upon us. Our time is now. I’m ready to make my mark, and am leaving behind the military to do so.
Who leaves a successful military career after 9 years? Who does that with a wife and four kids? Trading in security for the great unknown. It takes a bit a craziness to make a radical move like this. I think it takes a certain edge to make it as an entrepreneur, and I’m just sharpening things up. Are you razor sharp, or dull as a butter knife? Think about it.

Everyone is resistant to change. It boggles my mind. It makes me wonder what people would do if they would embrace it, and take the first step toward change.
People are so locked into their ways. It takes and incredible amount of effort to just give things up, and move in a different direction. There is some strange attraction to keeping what you have, because of the amount of time invested. What sense does that make?
It’s like saying that you have invested so much time and energy in smoking, why give up now. I guess the same could go for a job. I currently have 9 years at my current position. I’m leaving that behind to get into a totally different industry, with no financial security or guarantees. It took a great deal of courage to make the decision to change, as there are so many unknowns in life. Fear of the unknown can cripple you. I always told people that I can show you the door of opportunity, I can even open the door for you. But, I cannot push you through it. You have to take those steps yourself, and never look back. I’m giving up my career right now, and it’s not something I can look back on and regret. Life is too short to just go through the motions. The job, the family, the daily grind. Why do that? People do it because they have security. They feel safe. They are comfortable, but also think that this is what they are destined to. Well, you create your own destiny. If you say you’re going to be mediocre, you’re going to be mediocre, it’s a simple as that.
I can’t sit back anymore and watch life go by. You shouldn’t either. Take charge of your life, and go out and make a difference. It just takes one simple step. From there, embrace change, have love in your heart, and believe that you are destined for greatness.

A critical point in my life. I start this new journey with my head held high and a smile on my face. I look forward to the days to come. Each passing day brings me closer to my new reality. A reality where I make my own destiny. I hope that others can find this too, and embark on their own journey. You just have to take the first step, then take it in stride from there.
